This certified training course is aimed at site-based staff members within a contractor or supply chain partner. It provides the knowledge and expertise required to manage and supervise post-installed anchor installations to the highest level of safety and quality, in compliance with BS8539:2012, “Code of practice for the selection and installation of post-installed anchors in concrete and masonry,” Clause 8.
The training course comprises 9 modules, resource documents and a final exam. The course takes 2-3 hours to complete but can be taken in bite-size pieces over a six-month period.
This course covers Competent Supervisor of fixings to BS8539 Clause 8, and the contents are as follows:-
BS8539 roles and responsibilities of all stakeholders
Role of the Supervisor
Description of anchor types and working principles
Failure modes of anchors & Inspection methods
Correct installation procedures for all anchor types
Video demonstrations of installation
To pass this course and receive your certificate, you must complete each of the training modules and then take and pass the final Assessment Exam.
The course includes two attempts at the final Assessment Exam. If you fail to pass on the first attempt, you will be advised of the questions where you lost marks. You can re watch the appropriate modules and access the resources before re-taking the Assessment Exam. If you fail the Assessment Exam a second time, you will have failed the course, and no refund will be given.
