Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Accessing and Rigging – Fall Protection


Course Details

Employers / Individuals the ability to express interest in The Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Accessing and Rigging – (Fall Protection) qualification. Upon registering your interest you will be contacted by one of our team to discuss your the options, costs and delivery of the course.

NEW for 2025, this qualification is a fundamental course to ensure compliance with the new Industry standard BS8681:2024. The standard states that installers of fall protection systems should be trained to a minimum of Level 2. In addition to this engineers working alone or if in pairs should have at least one engineer should also be trained to a Level 3 standard. This NVQ also provides the learner with the ability to obtain CSCS card from 1st January 2025 if they do not presently hold a Level 2 NVQ in Access and Rigging.

The course consists of up to 1 week of theory training delivered from our Doncaster site (this can be reduced if other training has already been completed see Pre Enrolment Checks Below). Access to our 8point8 Training E-portfolio to track progress and upload evidence.

Modules covered include:

  • — Conform to General Health and Safety and welfare in the workplace
  • — Moving Handling and Storing Resources in Workplace
  • — Installing and Setting up Fall Protection Systems in the Workplace
  • — Utilising Fall Protection Systems / Equipment in the workplace
  • — Preparing and Operating Scissor Type MEWP in the workplace
  • — Confirming the Occupational Methods of work
  • — Confirming Work Activities
  • — Conforming to Productive Working Practices
  • — Monitoring Progress of Work Against Schedules in the workplace
  • — Installing Construction Anchors in the Workplace
  • — Site Testing of Construction Fixings in the Workplace

Additional Evidence Requirements

There is also a requirement to complete Practical On-site activities which are to be used to provide evidence towards the practical assessment criteria of the qualification. These will be issued in the 8point8 Training E-portfolio and guidance provided of how to submit this to the trainers/assessors.

Pre-Registration Checks

Learner checks will be made prior to enrolment on the course and reductions in the cost will be applied should learners already hold one or both of the qualifications listed below, this will also ensure a reduction in the amount of

Upon Registration

Upon registration, a letter from the Awarding Organisation will be provided and Learners/Employers can use this alongside a valid Working at Height CSCS touch Screen Test certificate to apply for a Red CSCS card to allow them site access. This will be valid whilst the qualification is being completed.

Upon Successful Completion

Upon successful completion of the qualification applicants can apply for a gold CSCS card once the NVQ certificate has been issued.

Funding Options

This qualification is a non funded course, however if your organisation is paying into the CITB Levy there maybe options to contribute towards the cost of this training.
